Just in time for Christmas.

The sweetest. Look at these beautiful big sisters adoring their new little baby brother, Cooper. He’s the bees knees, and throughout the session it was quite obvious that everyone in the family felt that way about their newest addition.

This photo session was a baby shower gift, and I don’t know if I’ve ever been as touched by a mother’s thankful heart. For me, this is all about bringing smiles and hearts filled with joy to my clients. I want them to be able to cherish memories through these images. It means so much to me when people express their delight, and this mommy did so abundantly.

It was so great to spend time with this fab fam of five. Merry, merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas!

These sweet people are full of life and full of love.  They say hillarious things and laugh at each other with a fond, adoring, tenderheartedness that is uniquely “Mullen.” I’m so happy I was able to photograph them this Christmas season!

On a side note, one of those pretty girls happens to be extra-special to me. She was in my class when I taught elementary school in Tacoma years ago (more years than we really need to count). She was something special then, and held a special place in my heart during that time. She’s still amazing, and I’m so proud of the young lady she’s grown into. (enough of that. tears now.)

And, my very favorite part of the session? Hugs. From each of the kids as they departed. I’m hoping (and assuming) that means they felt blessed and joyful as we wrapped things up. That’s always my prayer.

My Family . . .

It’s all kinds of goodness to be able to photograph my own family – and it helps when they’re gorgeously beautiful! My little niece and nephew weren’t in the “sit still and smile for the camera” kind of mood, so we played some chase and ate a few Smarties as we coaxed them into family photos. My favorite is the happy image with all four  of them engaged, laughing, loving. Great family – great fun. This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for them.

Christmas Card Photos in Full Swing

It’s that wonderful time of year! I cannot even begin to express the joy is has brought me to photograph so many sweet, beautiful, and generous families this Christmas season. November has provided me with a full calendar and a growing little business. More than anything, my heart overflows with the kind, positive, and encouraging words of love and support from my clients. When they are happy, my work is done. Thank you! I’m blessed by you.

Sweet Little Boy!

This little boy is extra-special! At three-years-old, I don’t usually expect them to sit nicely and smile for the camera. But, this guy will – no problem! I love the colors Mom (and I’m sure Dad helped, too) chose for their session. Paired with the gorgeous fall-decor at the entry of their home, their coordinating attire made for beautiful images. And . . . that backyard! That’s where Daddy comes in. He’s created an impressive landscape, including a waterfall. It was a really great location for their photo session, and a family I love any opportunity to see . . . win-win.

Just Love Photoghraphing Favorites

The very best kind of friends make the very best kind of photos. I love every image, because I know these people and have such a great fondness for each of them. I see a lot more than just a portrait. I see my friend’s generous heart, and the way she loves me so very well all of the time. I see the mellow nature of a guy my husband loves to hang out with. I see the kindness of a big brother who cares for our littles . . . and is getting too big, too quickly. I see Mr. O-Town, and the party in his eyes. And, of course, I see Sophie’s affection for her family (most especially, her daddy).

These are my friends, and I just love ’em. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to capture these images! I hope they bless them as much as they bless me.

Two to Love

Yes, they are the cutest. I love repeat customers, and these are the super-adorable little girl kind. At my house full of boys, I don’t get much frill. These little dolls are as sweet as anything, and they certainly have personalities all their own. While one would have gladly posed for me all day long, the other was a bit more demure. Both were equally joyful!

One of my favorite images is when Mom sneaked in for a beautiful fall photo. These yellows, oranges, and reds will soon fall to the ground. I’m glad they were able to take advantage of this beautiful autumn day!

Welcome!

I am delighted to share Sunrise Photography with you via this site. I’ve been photographing forever; professionally for four years. Previously with BerryLane Photography, I’ve been trained and mentored by the best! Now on my own, I’m finding my love for photography anew . . . experiencing things from a different angle, and loving this journey. Thanks for visiting!

This beautiful family was delightful to spend some time with last weekend. Two sweet little girls who smile angelically with ease, and the loveliest Mommy and Daddy ever . . . couldn’t ask for more. I hope they enjoy their portraits as much as I enjoyed taking them! Fall is such a perfect time to schedule a family session.
